These days, engagement sessions are a rite of passage for any newly engaged couple. Many of my clients choose to have their engagement session anywhere from a few months before the wedding to shortly after their proposal.
For timing purposes, I suggest you consider what you want to use your engagement photos for and then schedule a date from there. For example, if you want to use your engagement photos as the actual announcement that you're engaged, I'd arrange a session within the first two weeks after getting engaged. On the other hand, if you plan to use your engagement session pictures for save-the-dates or wedding invitations, you have a little bit more time to schedule. The same is true for couples who want to create thank-you cards with their engagement pictures.
Leading up to your session, we'll discuss the best locations and time of day to create an entire experience and backdrop that's meaningful for you. I've photographed e-sessions at the restaurant a couple had their first date, at the park where he proposed, at the fair, in an orchard and against urban scrawls. What matters most is that we make this session completely about you as a couple.

So you're getting hitched, eh? Woohoo! Imagine me doing my Kermit the Frog arms flailing happy dance for you! Obviously, getting married is a pretty big deal. Those engagement pictures? They're a pretty big deal, as well.
I often hear the question, "If I'm getting pictures taken at my wedding, why do I need engagement photos, too?" Here are just a few reasons:

- It's nice to have stunning pictures of you and your loved one in non-bridal apparel.
- You can use photographs from your e-session for your save-the-dates, wedding announcements and thank you cards.
- It gives you a chance to show off that gorgeous ring the second he puts it on your finger. And men, you paid for it, so you want to show that bad boy off, too!
- It actually comes with some of my wedding packages, so you could save yourself some money by booking an e-session and wedding session together.
Sold? I hope so! Regarding the logistics of an e-session, here's how things'll go: I'll work with both of you to create the perfect, on-location session. We can shoot at dusk when the sun is golden and warm, in the morning against a foggy backdrop, or even at night with dramatic lighting. We'll shoot, have a blast and then within four weeks you'll have the final product.
We start out by discussing the details: themes, locations, outfits, and what you plan to use your images for. From there I guide you in your wardrobe choices if you want a little help. We'll be here along the way to address any questions you have.
On the day of your shoot, we'll meet at the location and start snapping away. We always get lots of mushy photos that showcase your love, and you better believe we capture all the details too (including your ring)! If you have any specific requests, we'll make sure to get those taken care of, as well. Pretty sweet, right?

So what goes into an engagement session?
We offer our engagement session shoot as part of several wedding photography packages. Alternatively, we can do your e-session a la carte. Alone, our e-session costs $350 and includes an hour of shooting time and unlimited outfit changes.
The coverage you get from Noemi Olah Photography on your wedding day depends on the package you choose. Every package, though, includes coverage of your actual wedding day (ceremony and reception) with me, Noemi, as your photographer.
From there, you can upgrade to additional coverage. I have second shooter available for additional packages. You can also upgrade to additional hours of coverage. For example, some brides love to have a photographer there while they're getting their makeup and hair done.
No matter what package or add-ons you select, the photos from your wedding day will be beautiful. I take both journalistic/lifestyle images and also posed shots. From the moment you secure your date with me, we'll work together to make sure every single image you want is captured on your big day. Please massage me for Wedding Price Sheets!

How do payments work?
We require a 50% non-refundable security retainer to hold your wedding date. We require the remaining 50% no less than two weeks before your wedding date.
Do you accept payment plans?
Sure thing! We do require the 50% up front to book and you must be paid in full a month before the wedding. Outside of that, we'd be happy to arrange a payment plan with you. In the past, we've set up monthly payments, or three to four payment installations that occur over time. We are more than willing to work out a unique payment plan with you!
Can I just hire you for an engagement session and not a wedding?
Yes, you can! You know we'd love to photograph both, but we're always up for an engagement session. Refer to our pricing packages in this packet for more information on e-session cost and coverage.
How long does it take to get my pictures?
Noemi Olah Photography works diligently to edit your photographs and get them to you in a timely fashion. Our typical delivery rate runs three weeks during the slower season and up to a month out during our busiest season. We want to make sure every image and product is perfect!
Can I hire an additional photographer to shoot our wedding?
The contract you sign states that Noemi Olah Photography photographers are the only photographers allowed to shoot on your wedding day. This helps promote our creativeness and ensures you get the best photos. We do offer additional shooters depending on the photo package you choose. As long as guests do not infringe upon our space, they can take pictures with their cameras/phones.
Do you provide customized packages?
Not all weddings are the same -- we get it! For that reason, we may provide a customized wedding package to suit your needs. These customized packages are for weddings that are far outside the norm (for example, a very short, intimate wedding between only parents and the bride/groom). Talk to us and we'll make it work!
